Many thanks to Manuel Koch for inviting me to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange!
Germans are still investing cautiously in stocks. How do you assess the situation?
According to study of the Deutsches Aktien Institut, 10.3 million German citizens own shares or equity funds. That's 16.2% of the population. The question, however, is: how does the rest of them invest their money? Many Germans still have their money in their current account or savings book.
From my point of view there are 2 reasons:
- Lack of knowledge and
- Fear of equity investments.
How did TransparentShare come about?
How many I used to manually rate stocks in an XLS. For many years I had a dream: "I wake up in the morning, open my share app and it tells me which share is a buy or sell recommendation today." This dream came true in 2016. Together with an excellent software developer, we developed this app for private use in our free time. At the beginning of 2018 I decided to found the startup and make the app available to everyone.
Why do you think you can invest successfully with your app?
First of all, let me say that neither we nor our app are clairvoyant. How the stocks will develop in the future is in the stars.
We have evaluated the data for the past 2 ½ years. TransparentShare was able to achieve a return a good 28% higher than the DAX in 2017. In 2018, the return was more than 8% higher. Our Wikifolio has achieved a return of 12.4% since January 2019.
Where can I find the app?
You can download the app directly from our website at www.transparentshare.com start. You can also find the app for download on the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
