Newmont Mining's momentum is improving!
Newmont Mining is currently benefiting from strong momentum from its existing projects. Commercial operations commenced at Ahafo North in Ghana at the end of October 2025. This project secures approximately 13 years of additional gold production. Discussions about a potential expansion of its presence in Nevada are also circulating in the market, which could further strengthen the momentum surrounding Newmont Mining's stock. However, this should be considered speculation for now. Simultaneously, a portfolio streamlining and a capital program are underway. Newmont has sold holdings worth over $3.5 billion as part of this program.

A new rating signal!
In the TransparentShare Rating, Newmont Mining stock achieved a score of 8 out of 11 points as of October 30, 2025. The current rating is now 6 out of 11 points. The decline is primarily due to slight fluctuations in the price-to-earnings ratio, which has been hovering around the threshold of 12. The strong free cash flow, solid balance sheet structure, and high equity ratio of 53 percent continue to have a positive impact.
What happens next?
In the third quarter, the company exceeded expectations, further underscoring its profitability in the current gold price environment. In the short term, the gold price and the commercialization of the mines remain key drivers. Analysts are predominantly positive, with an average price target of $103, representing a potential upside of approximately 25 percent.
In addition to dependence on the gold price, risks now also include environmental conflicts surrounding the planned deep-sea project in Papua New Guinea.
Above all, the combination of the recent rating changes in our system reinforces the good fundamental basis for Newmont Mining stock.
