Traton stock at a glance
Traton's stock is caught between job cuts at MAN, weaker truck demand, and a return on equity of 15.71% (%). But why does TransparentShare award it 6/11 points (as of November 21, 2025) – and still recommend a "Buy" rating?
- Traton stock: Job cuts at MAN in response to weak truck market.
- Return on equity of 15.71 % – solid, but cyclical.
- TransparentShare rating 6/11 with a buy recommendation for risk-aware investors.
Traton is the Volkswagen Group's holding company for truck and bus manufacturers. Its best-known brands are MAN and Scania. Traton's stock is currently undergoing a significant restructuring: MAN plans to cut approximately 2,300 jobs in Germany over the next few years, primarily at its Munich, Nuremberg, and Salzgitter locations. This news has sparked considerable discussion among investors.
The move is justified by a weakening truck market, rising energy costs, and increasing competition. For Traton's stock, this means that in the short term, the restructuring will cause concerns about employment and structural costs, while in the long term, it is intended to stabilize profitability.
Traton stock in the middle of a cycle!
A look across the Atlantic also shows that the industry is in the midst of its classic cycle. According to ACT Research, orders for heavy-duty trucks in North America fell by around 21 percent in October. This is a clear indication that fleet operators are becoming more cautious.
At the same time, analysts remain constructive about Traton: UBS has lowered its price target from 40 to 35 euros, but confirmed its "Buy" rating, arguing that the risks for 2025 are largely priced in and the focus is now on 2026.
The TransparentShare rating for Traton stock!
